The “AE” air eliminator solves many of the problems associated with air or gas presence in pumped liquids. Line vibration due to 2-phase flow, poor flow meter measurement accuracy, and product quality issues are a few of the more common negative effects of gas presence in a liquid. As the name suggests, the “AE” series Air Eliminator is designed to remove the air or gas present in these product streams. Designed to be located after the pumping device in a positive pressure line, product enters at a tangent to the wall of the vessel, the resultant force stratifies the incoming product putting the heavier liquid towards the wall with the lighter aerated product separating towards the center. This separation is then completed by allowing only the liquid at the outer wall to exit the vessel at the bottom located outlet. When a sufficient quantity of air is collected at the center it is automatically vented at the top of the vessel. The fully mechanical design means that no additional control boxes or electrical wiring is needed to operate, simplifying installation and reducing long term ownership cost. Applications for the “AE” can vary from intake receiving systems where the “AE” is used to remove air for proper measurement, to the supply of a filling process for improvement of portion control.

The Pulse 100 microprocessor based monitor is designed for those customers wishing to monitor liquid level in a single vessel. The Pulse enclosure may be wall or panel mounted directly within the process, or control room environment. Visual indication of tank contents is provided via a 6 active digit LED display, giving optimum readout resolution regardless of measurement units. The single enclosure also houses the main microprocessor board, power supply and input/output interface card slots. The Pulse 100 is supplied with a 4-20 mA input card, thus allowing direct hookup to Anderson liquid level sensors. Switching functions are provided via an optional plug in relay card, and allows for two active above, as well as two active below, switch points. In addition, 4-20 mA retransmission of the tank level may be accomplished via an optional plug in output card. Programming of system parameters such as tank span, offset, and product specific gravity values may be accomplished utilizing the four momentary contact switches located on the interior of the unit. The unit may be programmed after installation to display either volume (gallons or liters) or weight (pounds or kilograms). A custom config-ured 100 point calibration reference table may be utilized to give true volumetric readings on non-linear vessels. The enclosure may be wall or panel mounted, up to 1200 feet from the vessel.

The second analog output is used for a temperature output as unlike other inductive sensors the ILM has a fast reacting integral temperature sensor that can be used to monitor process. Available in multiple wiring configurations, the ILM can be used with single cable operation for simple conductivity applications or dual cable operation to utilize all output and input capabilities. Ranges from from 0-500 up to 0-2,000,000 microSiemens/cm and temperature compensated over a range of 0° and 150°C. The Anderson ITM-3 combines a proven optical backscatter light technology with the latest generation of electronics to provide an expanded feature set and simple user interface yielding a highly adaptable optical sensing device. Standard features of the ITM-3 include a 4-20mA output of the measured turbidity which can be assigned to 5 selectable ranges that can be programmed via the internal interface or configured so any two of them can be remotely selected via a 24 VDC digital input. This feature allows a single unit to be used for multiple products in the same line, with an output that can be set for the optimal resolution as required. A backlit dual line LCD display is included for set-up as well for local indication of the relative turbidity level and switched output status. And finally, a digital output is provided with adjustable setpoint and hysteresis for simplified integration in to a plant process. Wiring is accomplished via standard M12 quick disconnect receptacles, and the housing is IP69K/Nema 4X rated. Anderson's standard lens material is sapphire which has proven the most durable in the intended applications. Applications for the ITM-3 include detection and automation of product to product changeovers as well as product to water interfaces in traditional dairy and beverage processes. The unit can also be used to monitor CIP return lines for presence or absence of product allowing for optimized flush water use. It’s also been used for yeast harvest automation in breweries and for leak detection downstream of filters. Anywhere a change in turbidity can be used to monitor, alarm, or automate may be another great place to install an ITM-3.

The Anderson ITM-4 Turbidity meter offers precision measurement of suspended solids through the use of infrared light. Utilizing a 4-beam technology the ITM-4 has multiple emitters and receptors to produce an online, real-time measurement of turbidity that can yield information critical to both process function and product quality. The compact integral design makes installation and set-up easy. But this simplicity in design does not mean that the ITM-4 is short on features. There are standard switching and analog (4-20mA) outputs along with 4 remote selectable ranges that are available to handle different products on the same process line. Specifying the ITM-4 is easy with the line connection size as the only decision that needs to be made. Configuration is done with a simple three button navigation of the on-screen menus that makes selecting units of measure, analog output range, and switch point for your product a quick task. Most important to food and dairy processors is the robust design which offers lower cost of ownership than many other turbidity meters. The LED lamp technology provides longer life than devices utilizing tungsten bulbs and a sapphire lens is resistant to damage commonly found on other lens materials. Since this unit employs multiple beams, fouling of the optics is compensated automatically which significantly reduces the need for servicing. Most importantly the construction is the same rugged watertight stainless steel construction you have come to expect from Anderson. In fact the unit complies to the German IP69K standard which is more stringent that NEMA 4X. Whether the application involves alarming a process when signs of premature filtration failure occur or to provide constant feedback on a solids concentration to ensure product quality, the ITM- 4 offers the needed performance and durability to give years of trouble free operation.

A standard backlit graphic display provides the metering information not only as numbers and text but also has the ability to display images. By using images along with text a more intuitive feel to navigation is achieved making the programming experience quicker and simpler. On the inside a PFA liner offers increases in pressure, temperature and vacuum capability. The LB Point Level probe assemblies are designed to provide long-term reliability in applications where they are continuously exposed to wide temperature swings and repeated CIP cycles. The LB utilizes a new process developed to seal Teflon® insulation to stainless steel probes providing a smooth, thick, permanent coating that’s impervious to conditions encountered in sanitary processing and CIP applications. To simplify installation the LB incorporates an elastomer between the Teflon® and the probe that allows any probe to be shortened by up to six inches in the field. The LL series switching modules are connected to the probes via a water-tight Quick Disconnect.
The LB also features a second proprietary, elastomeric compression seal at the top of each probe to insure a sanitary seal is maintained at the probe to fitting junction. No threads exist within or near the product contact zone. Finally, the LB integrates a stainless steel wiring head that simplifies field wiring and retrofits to existing electronic controls. The head and fitting assembly can support up to 4 individual probes, plus a separate tank reference connection. The housing includes a pre-wired and sealed quick disconnect receptacle and can be specified with a molded cordset. The quick disconnect even meets NEMA 4X requirements in the disconnected position.

Designed for use in food processing applications, the RZ is capable of measuring a wide range of products from water to viscous sugars. The RZ is comprised of a single moving part design, measurement is based on the principle of a chamber and rotating piston which create several internal chambers which are alternately filling and emptying as the piston moves in a circular path within the chamber. The electronic sensing of the pistons position and movement provides the information necessary to measure the exact volume of liquid which has passed through the flowmeter. Available in 2¨ and 3¨ sizes to fit a wide range of applications, and flow ranges, the RZ can provide the performance necessary to satisfy demanding food process applications.

Anderson-Negele’s RZU series flowmeter is a utility version of the industry accepted Accurate RZ series sanitary flowmeter. A lack of polish has made this rugged design suitable for use on corn sweeteners, oils and other products which do not require a 3A approved flowmeter. The RZ2AU provides the same single moving part design and the same high accuracy performance of its polished counterpart making it an attractive replacement for maintenance prone mechanical meters. Measurement is based on the principle of a chamber and rotating piston which create several internal chambers which are alternately filling and emptying as the piston moves in a circular path within the chamber, sensing of pistons position and movement provides the information necessary to measure the exact volume of liquid which has passed through the flowmeter. Measuring accuracy of ± 0.15% over operational range is achieved through quality manufacturing of a proven precision design. Coupling the simplicity of the measuring chamber with a fully electronic transducer, the RZ2AU can provide years of maintenance free, accurate service.

Anderson Instrument Company’s “SL” Level Transmitter is the latest innovation for measuring liquid level in sanitary applications. The “SL” Transmitter incorporates state of the art design to provide superior accuracy and long term signal stability. The field tested performance of the “SL” transmitter means the elimination of expensive, repetitive re-calibrations along with protection against costly overflow/run-dry situations that can occur with less stable level transmitters. The 0.2% accuracy experienced at installation can now be expected a year later! We’ve also incorporated a field calibration feature that provides “one-touch” sensor zeroing as well as simple range calibration, without the need for special tools and fixtures, pressure sources, or removal of the transmitter from the tank. This translates to real cost savings during installation or when adjusting for new application requirements. With the addition of our standard quick disconnect receptacles; we have even extended our two-year warranty to cover water ingression.

The Anderson-Negele SR series transmitter may be ordered with built-in LCD indication. The unit meets all sanitary requirements for finish and cleanability in the food and beverage industry. It is designed and manufactured to withstand the harsh process and environmental conditions encountered in the food and dairy indsutries. Its one-piece stainless steel package design incorporates a transducer and electronic circuitry to convert pressure and/or vacuum to a proportional 4-20 mA signal. The wide variety of fittings and ranges provide flexibility in specifying the best transmitter for any application. The unit is designed to operate at high process temperatures and withstand CIP/SIP conditions. All units are supplied factory calibrated to standard, or custom ranges. For field maintenance, non-interactive zero, and span adjustments, as well as field accessible test points are provided. The optional LCD cap mounted display can be scaled to match actual process units, 0-100% of full scale, or 4-20 mA. This useful feature provides indication directly at the process, in addition to the standard 4-20 mA output.

The Anderson TDL transmitter combines all the benefits of a completely electronic DP level transmitter with features that improve performance and application breadth. By incorporating the technology of proven SL Driftless Level transmitters, installation, calibration, and long-term stability are all greatly enhanced versus competitive solutions. Furthermore, Anderson designed the new transmitter to operate on 24 Volt DC power, meet intrinsic safety requirements for hazardous locations, and provided a HART protocol option.
With its Stainless Steel enclosure and integral LCD Display, the transmitter can be mounted anywhere it’s most convenient using standard electronic cabling for sensor and output wiring. Dual outputs are standard, with DP (level) as the primary output, with the secondary selectable for “top” (pressure and/or vacuum) or “bottom” (total tank pressure). Finally, Anderson's added additional sensor fittings for simple retrofitting to sanitary tank spuds and ANSI flanges. The new TDL is now ready for virtually any level application where pressure and/or vacuum conditions exist.

The Anderson-Negele TFP series pressure transmitter is a microprocessor-based sensor specifically designed for sanitary fluid process applications in the Food and Beverage industry. This product provides an extremely high level of performance combined with the flexibility of digital communication via the “HART” protocol. The TFP series can be specified in several configurations including high temperature models that are available in direct or remote mount variations. The high temperature direct mount is also recommended for applications where a horizontal orientation is required for display viewing, such as tank tops and overhead lines. All models may be ordered with any of our wide variety of sanitary process fittings.
